Kierstin Stradford-Patterson

Kierstin joined Smith Garson in 2021. Prior to joining the firm, she served two members of the Maryland congressional delegation, where she managed appropriations, earmark requests, and issues such as small business, transportation, economic development, and housing. Kierstin excels in guiding clients toward procuring federal grants and developing winning strategies in Congress and the executive branch. She is a specialist in communications and outreach, with expertise in transportation and infrastructure, economic development, and regional coalition building.

Kierstin has secured millions of dollars in funding through earmarks and has successfully advanced key projects and authorizations in Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) legislation. Her keen understanding of a variety of transportation and infrastructure programs enables her to effectively align client goals with federal priorities, ensuring impactful outcomes. Her clients include a wide range of transit agencies, local governments, and nonprofit organizations.

Originally from South Orange, New Jersey, Kierstin earned her degree in English from Spelman College.
