John joined Smith Garson in January 2024 as a Senior Associate, providing comprehensive advocacy for a variety of clients. His professional background includes several years at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and as a strategic communications consultant at a public affairs firm, where he gained advocacy experience in trade, infrastructure, and energy policy. John began his Washington, D.C. career as legislative staffer for Congressman Ron DeSantis. John’s background in both the public and private sector provides clients a wide range of strategic solutions to achieve their policy goals.
John earned a Master of Arts with Distinction in International Relations from the University of Kent (United Kingdom), where he wrote his thesis on trade policy and transatlantic relations. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Clemson University.
